Over the past few years, Xiaomi has slowly clawed its way up to become one of China's best-selling TV makers. That, as typical with the company's business model, is in part due to the excellent value its TVs offer. Supposedly, however, that value may be set to take a slight hit.
According to new information from China, Xiaomi is about the raise the prices of its TVs. It won't be a significant increase, though, with the source expecting hikes in the region to CNY 100 to CNY 300. That comes out to about a US$45 increase at most. Of course, there's a reason for this. Reportedly, the cost of LCD panels has risen recently, prompting Xiaomi to raise retail prices in turn. The source also claims Xiaomi isn't the first to do this.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi is set to launch a new TV in India. The TV will be called the Mi TV Horizon Edition and will be unveiled on September 7. Specs remain unknown.
