Just a few hours ago, the first concrete indications seemingly confirmed an optical zoom camera with variable focal lengths based on a 200MP sensor for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Meanwhile, another leak on the Chinese network Weibo focuses on several other specifications that are set to define the upcoming Leica camera flagship smartphone with a new 1-inch camera and Leica-certified APO optics.
According to this latest Weibo leak, at least the Chinese version of the Xiaomi phone is expected to feature a battery with a capacity of 6,800mAh, which can be charged at 100 Watt via USB-C or wirelessly, like all other Xiaomi 17 models variants. If the leaker’s claims are accurate, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra chassis will be 0.31 inches thick and 3.06 inches wide, which would mean that it’s neither thicker nor wider than the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. That said, its weight of 8 oz will supposedly be slightly higher.
Last but not least, the leak also reveals the apparent color options for the Chinese launch, which is rumored to take place as early as next week. In addition to a black and a white version of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the company might also offer a green and a violet Leica camera flagship phone. If these will make it to other markets such as Europe remains to be seen. Furthermore, the battery in the global SKU could also be different, which will probably also apply to the Xiaomi 17 base model.
