Xiaomi has confirmed its plans to launch the Xiaomi 17 Ultra this week. The phone will debut in China as the company's most premium smartphone of this generation, and has now surfaced in the wild ahead of that.
As shared on Weibo, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra maintains the design language of its predecessors going back to the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. The flagship phone sports a circular camera deco, eschewing the camera plateau and rear display combo of the Xiaomi 17 Pro duo.
While the Xiaomi 17 Ultra looks identical to last year's phone and also a rival like the Vivo X300 Pro, the round camera housing also appears a tad smaller than the Xiaomi 15 Ultra's. That, of course, is at least in part down to the 17 Ultra sporting one fewer rear camera. As previously reported, the flagship features just one, significantly larger, telephoto camera instead of the dual-zoom setup of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
Word on the grapevine indicates the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will sport a completely flat display, as well as rounded edges. Unfortunately, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has also confirmed that the 17 Ultra will launch with higher pricing than the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
