Now that the top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor is out there, the next generation of Xiaomi flagship Android smartphones with the new platform are thought to follow. Based on the super-responsive precedent laid down by the OEM for their predecessors, they are projected to emerge in the form of vanilla and Pro versions of the "13 series" to start off with.
Both devices have been the subject of a virtual leak-storm in anticipation of this event, although the latest is the first in a while that seems to focus on the Xiaomi 13 and its front panel specifically. It consists of an image of a mobile device in what is described by the prolific leaker Digital Chat Station as an "armor case".
The tipster does not mention a possible source for the accessory (although Spigen, Nillikin and ESR are top candidates, presuming it could not be from Xiaomi itself). However, it is clear that whoever has designed the case has managed to account for the 13's rumored bezel-correction surgery in doing so.
Indeed, this new render purports to back up others that indicate a long-awaited switch to flat displays and consistent, restrained screen borders in the vanilla 12's successor (even if it seems more could have been done to shrink its selfie camera punch-hole as well).
Xiaomi is also said to have incorporated flat edges as well, which is also reflected in the new image. Finally, as Digital Chat Station observes, the new render gives the impression of a compact build in the putative armor-clad "13".
