Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro return excellent Geekbench 5 scores thanks to Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro have turned up on Geekbench, not long after the company confirmed the use of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for its next flagship smartphones. Shown below as the Xiaomi 2211133C and Xiaomi 2210132C, the pair evidently rely on the same chipset, which contains three clusters and eight CPU cores. For reference, Qualcomm has built the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 around a single Cortex-X3 core clocked at 3.2 GHz, followed by four Cortex-A715 performance cores running at 2.8 GHz and three Cortex-A510 efficiency cores restricted to 2.02 GHz.
The Xiaomi 2211133C and Xiaomi 2210132C benchmarked also contain the same 12 GB of RAM, shown below as 10.90 GB. Considering that the pair feature the same SoC and RAM, it should come as no surprise that they achieve similar Geekbench 5 single-core and multi-core scores. Incidentally, both sets of scores mirror our Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 benchmark analysis, where we compared Qualcomm’s latest chipset with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1.
In short, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 helps the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro outperform their predecessors by significant margins in both benchmarks. Specifically, the Xiaomi 13 outscores the Xiaomi 12 by almost 20% in single-core work but nearly 45% in Geekbench’s multi-core benchmark. The A16 Bionic retains the edge in Geekbench on Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, but the pair traded blows in our benchmark analysis. Currently, Xiaomi is expected to release the Xiaomi 13 series before the end of the year in China and in early 2023 for other markets, such as the rest of Asia and Europe.
