New hands-on photos of the Xiaomi 13 series have surfaced online, following a spate of photos that leaked last month. While earlier images showcased a few elements of the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, these new photos offer side-by-side comparisons. The new images also arrived after Xiaomi confirmed when the Xiaomi 13 series will launch, as well as a few features about the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro.
As expected, the Xiaomi 13 has a flat display and extremely thin bezels, arguably thinner than those on the Xiaomi 13 Pro. By contrast, the Xiaomi 13 Pro relies on a curved panel, mirroring the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Additionally, both smartphones have large camera housing with three lenses, although the Xiaomi 13 Pro’s spans even more of its back panel than the Xiaomi 13. In short, the Xiaomi 13 Pro is a larger version of the Xiaomi 13 in all senses, with the former appearing to have a significantly thicker camera housing too.
However, Xiaomi is rumoured to have equipped both smartphones with triple 50 MP rear-facing cameras consisting of primary, ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lenses. Only the primary camera is expected to support optical image stabilisation (OIS) though, with Xiaomi likely affording the ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lenses just electronic image stabilisation (EIS) instead. Separately, it seems that Xiaomi’s new ‘nano skin’ technology will be a Xiaomi 13 Pro exclusive, with the Xiaomi 13 offering a smooth back panel instead.
