Xiaomi 12X to be Xiaomi's 'Mini' smartphone for those who want a flagship with a smaller display
It seems that Xiaomi is preparing to replace the Mi 11X, which it unveiled in April. A few days ago, @stufflistings and @yabhishekhd revealed the 2112123AC, a smartphone said to feature a Snapdragon 870 SoC and 67 W charging. @stufflistings added that the device, he did not provide a name, would have an 'aggressive' camera setup.
Now, @kacskrz has published a screenshot from a database linking the 2112123AG to the market name 'Xiaomi 12X'. The device's model number tells us that it is the global version of the 2112123AC, which is a Chinese variant. However, @kacskrz claims that there will be no Indian variant, unlike with the Mi 11X.
According to the leaker, the Xiaomi 12X also has the codename 'psyche'. If there were an Indian version of the Xiaomi 12X, we would expect Xiaomi to codename it 'psychein'. Regardless, the Xiaomi 12X has a Snapdragon 870 SoC, matching previous leaks.
Additionally, @kacskrz asserts that the Xiaomi 12X has a 50 MP primary camera and a 120 Hz display. Apparently, the AMOLED panel operates at 2,400 x 1,080 pixels, matching the Mi 11X. For some reason, the Xiaomi 12X support HDR10 rather than HDR10+, unlike the Mi 11X.
The Xiaomi 12X is expected to feature a 6.27- or 6.28-inch display, measuring 145.4 x 65.4 mm. Correspondingly, the Xiaomi 12X will have a more pixel-dense display than its predecessor. @kacskrz is unsure of the device's dimensions, but it could be just over 150 mm tall, assuming it and the Galaxy S21 have comparably-sized bezels.
Unfortunately, it is unclear when Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 12X. @stufflistings believes that the device will appear 'soon', which could mean before the end of the year.
