The story takes place during the events of SteamWorld Dig 2. The planet is on the brink of destruction, and ancient technology hidden in abandoned mines could help you. With gameplay divided into two main parts, you’ll first need to build infrastructure, roads, and houses and meet the needs of your citizens.

Keep them happy and manage your workforce. Production must run continuously, and milestones unlock new buildings and technologies. Then, you'll be able to explore the mines, solve puzzles, and collect valuable resources. However, even though this is a casual game, dangers await you, and you'll have to overcome them.

SteamWorld Build boasts an 84% positive rating out of 2,274 reviews on Steam. Many players praise the art direction and graphics. Its gameplay is also one of its main strengths, with highly praised resource management and building placement.

But some players criticize the game's lack of replay value. Although there are several maps available, the core gameplay remains the same, and repetition is one of its flaws. In addition, players criticize the game's difficulty.
