LG has released a new UltraGear gaming monitor, less than two months after launching the UltraGear OLED 27GX704A and UltraGear OLED 32GX850A. To recap, the company has frequently used various WOLED panel generations across many of its gaming monitor releases this year. However, that is not the case with the UltraGear 37G800A, which it is now selling in the US and other markets like the Eurozone.
Instead, the UltraGear 37G800A leverages a VA panel that delivers 178º viewing angles with 1 ms GtG response times and a 4,000:1 contrast ratio. Additionally, the new monitor outputs in 4K (3,840 x 2,160) across its 37-inch panel size to deliver a 120 PPI pixel density while hitting a 165 Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the UltraGear 37G800A boasts VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification for at least 600 nits peak brightness and 95% DCI-P3 colour space coverage.
Meanwhile, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro is on hand to minimise image tearing when connected to the monitor's DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1 or USB Type-C port that supports 65 W Power Delivery and DisplayPort Alt Mode. As the image below shows, LG includes also three other USB ports, as well as a 4-pole headphone jack. Alternatively, one could use the built-in speakers rather than external audio equipment. The LG UltraGear 37G800A can currently be purchased from Amazon or LG for $799.99, with B&H Photo Video to follow. By contrast, the same monitor will eventually be available in the Eurozone for €749, too.
