The AOC Q27G20SM is a new gaming monitor that sports a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It also features a refresh rate of up to 320Hz, which should be enough even for demanding gamers who have a powerful gaming PC. The gray-to-gray response time is listed at 1 ms, but 0.3 ms are possible via MPRT.
Mini-LED backlight with 1,152 dimming zones
The 27-inch IPS panel is paired with a mini-LED backlight that can be adjusted precisely thanks to 1,152 dimming zones. This should result in a high contrast ratio without noticeable halo effects while maintaining detail in dark parts of the image.
HDR performance and color accuracy
The AOC Q27G20SM further meets the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 specifications. The peak HDR brightness is 1,200 nits, while the typical brightness for SDR and HDR content is 600 nits and 700 nits, respectively. The panel covers the entire sRGB color space, while the color deviation with stock settings is Delta E < 1. That being said, accurate colors for professional use cases requires calibration.
No USB hub
The 1440p gaming monitor supports tilt, height and swivel adjustments and can also be pivoted. A USB hub or KVM switch is not onboard, so aside from the usual audio output, only HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 are available in terms of connectivity. AOC has not released any info regarding pricing or release date.
