The Q27G4SDR is the faster of the two monitors that AOC has presented today under its Agon Gaming brand. As we have covered separately, the similar-sounding Q27G4ZDR delivers a 240 Hz refresh rate. By contrast, the Agon Gaming Q27G4SDR ups this refresh rate to 360 Hz while maintaining a 1440p resolution, just like the Asus ROG Strix XG27ACDNG (curr. $699 on Amazon) and other comparable Gen 3 QD-OLED gaming monitors before it.
As such, AOC's new monitor offers Adaptive-Sync and Nvidia G-Sync variable refresh rate technologies to minimise image tearing with 0.03 ms GtG response times to boot. Additionally, the Agon Gaming Q27G4SDR is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified for up to 400 nits peak brightness (APL 10%) and delivers 99.1% DCI-P3 colour space coverage with 10-bit panel depth. On top of that, the monitor supports HDR10 content when available.
Also, the Agon Gaming Q27G4SDR possesses a USB 3.2 hub for connecting peripherals, as well as DisplayPort 1.4 and a pair of HDMI 2.1 ports. Incidentally, the latter allows the Agon Gaming Q27G4SDR to run Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5 consoles at 1440p and 120 Hz just like the cheaper Q27G4ZDR. Likewise, the Agon Gaming Q27G4SDR features 100 x 100 mm VESA mounts and an ergonomic stand.
The Agon Gaming Q27G4SDR should be available in the UK for £469 (~$612). According to AOC, it plans to begin selling the monitor from mid-November onwards. Please see the company's website for more details.
