HKC’s new UG27EQ gaming monitor pairs a 27-inch QHD panel with a 400Hz refresh rate and a 0.5ms response time, offering serious speed at an affordable price. It supports HDR400, FreeSync Premium, and G-Sync compatibility, with full connectivity including USB-C and HDMI 2.1.

HKC has launched the UG27EQ, a 27-inch gaming monitor that pairs a 2560×1440 resolution with a 400Hz refresh rate and a 0.5ms grey-to-grey response time. It is priced at 1,999 yuan (about $281) and currently available in China, the brand's home market. The UG27EQ uses an Ultrafast IPS panel built around a dual-direction drive circuit and a revised liquid crystal layer, which HKC says helps reduce motion blur by improving pixel transition speed.

The monitor supports HDR400 with a peak brightness of 400 nits, covers 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color space, which is 130 percent of sRGB. It produces 10-bit color through 8-bit + FRC processing, which allows a wider color range than standard 8-bit panels. HKC includes its DIC 2.0 motion blur reduction tech, which offers three adjustable levels and a Flash Clarity mode that is meant to automatically reduce the glare from flashbang effects in shooters.

Adaptive sync support covers both AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync to minimize tearing and stuttering. The Gaming Visiondock software lets users apply crosshair overlays, adjust dark areas, or set on-screen timers directly through the monitor’s interface. Ports include DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, USB-C, and a 3.5mm audio output. The USB-C connection supports 400Hz signal transmission, 15W reverse charging, and data transfer. The stand provides height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustment and supports 100×100 mm VESA mounts.
