Garmin’s recently unveiled Lifestyle Logging tool is becoming partially automated. The Connect app-based tool can be used to track your daily habits, like your exercise, journaling and caffeine consumption. Some smartwatch users have reported that they can already find this setting, though it is unclear when it will be available for everyone.

An improvement for the new Garmin Lifestyle Logging tool appears to to be rolling out. This feature arrived with the Venu 4 smartwatch (curr. from $528.09 at Amazon) in September 2025. Based in the Garmin Connect app, it is designed to help users track a range of health and wellness related habits.

Now, several Garmin smartwatch users have reported on Reddit that an auto-logging functionality is available for the Lifestyle Log. The tool means that for some logged behaviours like exercises, data will be dynamically populated when your wearable is connected to your phone, saving you from manually entering the details. Garmin has yet to provide a list of the habits which can be automatically logged in its support pages.

Auto-logging appears to be optional, with Garmin Connect users able to toggle it on or off. A report by Garmin Rumors indicates that users are prompted to switch on auto-logging when a compatible behaviour is detected, with the app explaining how the automation works. For other habits which cannot be automatically logged, you can be reminded daily to complete your log manually. It remains to be seen when the Garmin auto-logging tool for Lifestyle Logging will reach all users. The5krunner suggests that it will be pushed to more users in November 2025.
