Garmin has officially announced the Venu 4 smartwatch, following a series of recent leaks. It arrives as a successor to the Venu 3, which launched in 2023. The new model has a similar design to its predecessor, with a slim, round metal casing and is offered in a range of colorways.
The Venu 4 is also available in two sizes: 41 mm with a 1.2-inch AMOLED display, and 45 mm with a 1.4-inch AMOLED screen. It has a wide range of health tracking features, such as heart rate variability (HRV), skin temperature, Body battery energy monitoring and sleep health reports. New tools include Health Status, found in the Garmin Connect app, which helps users understand how recent data compares to their average, potentially indicating illness. There is also a new lifestyle log in the app, and advanced sleep metrics with personalized guidance to help you improve your rest.
On the Venu 4, Garmin’s Fitness Coach provides tailored workouts for over 25 types of activities, including walking and indoor cycling, with daily suggested workouts. Plus, there are new accessibility features, like spoken watch face information like the time or your health data, and a series of color filters for those with color blindness. Also included with this watch is the ECG app, which could help you detect signs of atrial fibrillation (AFib). Its hardware includes a speaker, a microphone and an LED flashlight. Plus, you can respond to texts using an on-watch keyboard or voice assistant, and make contactless payments through Garmin Pay. The smartwatch is expected to run for 12 days with typical use or 19 hours in All-Systems GNSS mode.
The Garmin Venu 4 smartwatch will be released on September 22nd, with silicone strap 41 mm and 45 mm versions priced at $549.99/£469.99/€549.99. In the US, that makes it $100 more expensive than the Venu 3 ($449.99 at Amazon). There are also two versions with leather straps, which are more expensive at $599.99/£519.99/€599.99.
