Garmin has released a new update, software version 15.16, for the Venu 4, Venu X1 and vivoactive 6 smartwatches. This is the second stable release for the Venu 4, which launched in September 2025. The Venu X1 and vivoactive 6, two more 2025 releases, received their last stable update a couple of months ago.
Software version 15.16 brings the new Health Status glance to the Venu X1 and vivoactive 6 smartwatches. This sleep-related feature shows your heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), respiration, skin temperature and Pulse Ox metrics collected when you last slept wearing the watch, with a comparison to your average scores. The tool is already available for users of the Venu 4. For the Venu X1 only, there are three new watch faces. Plus, all three models can now be powered down without the user having to enter the device passcode.
The version 15.16 change log states that the volume of the click sound played when you begin a voice note has been dialled down. Garmin has fixed an issue which could cause the speaker to be muted incorrectly upon trying to answer a phone call. It has also tackled problems linked to the notification number shown on the watch face and the wrong time showing in the Evening Report. On top of this, Garmin Connect Mobile Translations has been upgraded to version 3.10, though it is unclear how this benefits users.
The Garmin software version 15.16 is now available for all users of the Venu 4, Venu X1 and vivoactive 6 (curr. $299.99 at Amazon) smartwatches. It should reach your wearable automatically when it is synced with Garmin Connect Mobile or Garmin Express. Alternatively, you can manually trigger the installation by going to the Main Menu > Settings > System > Software Update.
