Sapphire is taking another step into the mini PC market with the Edge AI, presenting a particularly compact system that is clearly aimed at tech enthusiasts and users who are looking for a powerful, AI-enabled device in a small form factor. The mini PC is based on the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, a modern APU of the Zen 5 generation that combines powerful computing performance, a fast Radeon 890M graphics unit, and an integrated NPU for local AI acceleration. This positions the Edge AI in a segment that is currently growing strongly and is increasingly characterized by AI functions and energy-efficient mobile technology.
Particularly striking is the compact housing, which is equipped with an intelligent magnetic lid and, despite its small size, offers numerous connection options, including USB4 and HDMI 2.1. This combination significantly expands the application possibilities and allows, among other things, the operation of external graphics cards. Sapphire deliberately takes a restrained approach to the cooling system, which ensures pleasantly low temperatures but leads to a noticeable noise development under high load. The choice of materials is less successful considering the price. Nevertheless, the Mini-PC is visually impressive with its black and gold design.
In our recent review, the Edge AI turns out to be a versatile everyday companion that is suitable for both office tasks and more demanding applications. The energy efficiency stands out positively and makes the mini PC an interesting option for users who value low-power consumption. With this model, Sapphire has made a convincing re-entry into the mini PC segment, which makes us curious about possible further devices in the series.
