GMKtec has teased the release of another EVO-T1 lookalike, less than two weeks after previewing the EVO-T2 in China. To recap, GMKtec bases the EVO-T1 around Intel's Arrow Lake architecture. Specifically, the EVO-T1 comes with the Core Ultra 9 285H, which the company complements with up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM out of the box (curr. $949 on Amazon).
Meanwhile, the EVO-T2 leverages Intel's newer Panther Lake series paired with up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and an Arc B390 iGPU. By contrast, GMKtec has reverted to the much older Meteor Lake architecture with the NucBox K15, which it has previewed on Chinese social media. In a detailed Weibo post, the company indicates that its new mini-PC can boost the Core Ultra 5 125U up to 35 W.
However, early Geekbench scores show the NucBox K15 only performing about as well as other Core Ultra 5 125U-powered machines that we have already reviewed in both single-core and multi-core CPU workloads. With that being said, OpenCL and Vulkan benchmark scores are some of the highest we have witnessed from Intel's modest Arc 4-core iGPU.
These benchmark listings confirm that the NucBox K15 will be available with up to 32 GB of DDR5 RAM too, which GMKtec complements with three M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots, dual 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet and a Wi-Fi 6E capable modem for good measure. While a release date remains unknown for now, GMKtec has confirmed that the NucBox K15 also features a rear-mounted OCuLink port for 64 Gbps eGPU expansion via docks like the Minisforum DEG1 and the more recent Aoostar EG02.
