Acemagic has released numerous mini-PCs over the years, including the F5A that it introduced over the summer with AMD's Strix Point architecture. Now, the company has confirmed initial details about a new model that should rival the GMKtec EVO-X2 (curr. $1,699 on Amazon) and other high-end mini-PCs.
In short, it looks like Acemagic has updated the M1A Tank 03 to AMD's Strix Halo platform. For context, Acemagic equipped the M1A Tank 03 with up to an Intel Core i9-12900H processor and Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3080 laptop GPU. By contrast, the newer Tank M1A Pro Plus does away with a dedicated GPU altogether.
Instead, Acemagic equips its latest mini-PC with only the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and its Radeon 8060S iGPU. While AMD's Strix Halo APU breezes past the Core i9-12900H in raw performance, the story is not as straightforward when it comes to GPU workloads. According to our benchmarks, the Radeon 8060S essentially matches the GeForce RTX 3080 laptop GPU. Thus, the M1A Pro Plus may not necessarily outperform the M1A Tank 03 in games.
Nonetheless, the Tank M1A Pro Plus also features up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X RAM running at 8,000 MT/s, 12 TB of storage and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. Acemagic has not revealed launch pricing or availability yet, though. Instead, it has only suggested that its Strix Halo mini-PC will be available soon.
