Tank X smartphone with 64MP night vision camera, 16GB RAM and 1080p projector launches with discount

The 8849 Tank X was officially introduced in mid-January, and the mid-range smartphone can now be preordered at the manufacturer’s online store. The Tank X costs $549, but this price might increase once this launch offer expires. Deliveries are expected to start on March 1.
According to the company, 8849 Tech ships from warehouses in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia in order to avoid additional import fees, but if an order is shipped from China after all, extra expenses should be considered. Compared to older models like the 8849 Tank 4 Pro, the Tank X primarily offers a better projector, as the manufacturer replaces the 720p projector with its 100-lumen brightness with a 1080p DLP projector that is said to hit 220 lumens.
The huge 17,600mAh battery allows a projector runtime of 5 hours at maximum brightness on a single charge. The smartphone can be recharged via USB-C at up to 120 watts, while other devices can be charged at up to 10 watts. Another special feature is the large camping light on the back, which has a maximum brightness of 1,200 lumens. Meanwhile, the 64 megapixel night vision camera is paired with four infrared LEDs so it can still take photos in complete darkness.
Aside from that, the specs are in line with typical mid-range smartphones, including a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, a 50MP selfie camera, FM radio, GPS and NFC modules. 8849 further opted for the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The smartphone is 1.26 inches thick, weighs 1.65 lbs and features a 6.78-inch IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1080p+ resolution and 750 nits of brightness.
