Kospet is offering a new smartwatch with a rectangular display that’s named the Tank M4C. The wearable is available on Amazon for $159 thanks to a $20 launch coupon. This watch is designed for outdoor enthusiasts and is water resistant up to 5 ATM, so it’s suitable for swimming. The manufacturer opted for a 1.96-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 410 x 502 pixels and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits.
The sensor setup is relatively comprehensive and includes an optical sensor for measuring heart rate as well as oxygen saturation. There is also an electronic compass and a barometer, which is used to measure air pressure and estimate altitude. GPS is on board as well, but the Kospet M4C lacks navigation features. As a result, it is not possible to import routes. Maps cannot be stored on the 1GB internal storage, although music can be saved and played without a connected smartphone.
When a smartphone is paired, notifications can be displayed on the smartwatch. The Tank M4C can also function as a hands-free Bluetooth device, so picking up the phone when answering a call is not necessary. LEDs for the flashlight feature are located on the top and can be adjusted in several levels. According to Kospet, the watch is made of a relatively large amount of stainless steel and metals in general. To be more exact, the watch case itself is made of a zinc alloy, while plastic is used for the back.
Furthermore, there are four physical buttons and a built-in battery with a capacity of 500mAh. Battery life is specified at up to 16 days with typical use, but that drops to 5 days when the display is always on. Running or cycling sessions can also be recorded thanks to the aforementioned GPS module, but the battery only lasts 21 hours in that case. Last but not least, the Kospet Tank M4C offers a walkie-talkie feature with a range of 43 yards.
