ASRock has quietly updated its mini-PC portfolio with new examples after releasing the DeskMini X600 with USB4 connectivity over the summer (curr. $172.79 on Amazon). This time, the company has decided to embrace Intel's Arrow Lake architecture, which can already be found across mini-PCs like the ASUS NUC 15 Pro and Khadas Mind 2s, among others.
Specifically, ASRock has added the BOX-225H and iBOX-255H to its website as an expansion of the existing iBOX series. As their names suggest, the pair feature Intel's Core Ultra 5 225H and Core Ultra 7 255H processors, respectively. According to our benchmarks, the additional two performance cores in the Core Ultra 7 255H's favour do not deliver much in the way of performance advantages.
By contrast, the Arc 140T that Intel integrates within the Core Ultra 7 255H enjoys a much bigger performance bump over the Arc 130T inside the Core Ultra 5 225H. Nonetheless, both the iBOX-225H and iBOX-255H are fanless systems that use their metal cases as heatsinks. Moreover, both variants feature a plethora of ports on their front and rear sides too.
On top of that, ASRock states that both mini-PCs support up to 96 GB of DDR5 RAM clocked at 6,400 MT/s, as well as Thunderbolt 4 and 2.5 Gigabit LAN connectivity. Unfortunately, pricing and availability remain unknown for now. Please see ASRock's iBOX-225H and iBOX-255H product listings for more details about either or both mini-PCs.
