The leaks about the Galaxy S26 series have been chaotic and disappointing so far. Little new information on the cameras, the potential use of the Exynos 2600 instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and all the drama surrounding the surprising cancellation of the Galaxy S26 Edge and the return of the Galaxy S26 Plus, which could result in a delay until March 2026.
However, during the announcement of the financial results for the third quarter of 2025 and the usual round of talks with investors, the vice president of Samsung's Mobile Experience division, Daniel Araujo, hinted at some exciting developments for the Galaxy S26 series, possibly to reassure investors.
Accordingly, the Galaxy S26 series will "revolutionize the user experience with next-gen AI, as well as offer its own 2nd generation chipset, stronger performance, and new camera sensors". This effectively confirms the Exynos 2600 for at least some Galaxy S26 models in certain regions, which, thanks to 2nm technology, could potentially perform on par with the 3nm Qualcomm chip this time around, as recent benchmark leaks suggest.
The reference to the new camera sensors is also interesting. Aside from a presumably rather insignificant sensor replacement for the 10-megapixel 3x telephoto lens of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, past leaks suggest that the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ will indeed feature a new camera sensor. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is likely to primarily benefit from a brighter lens if the leakers are correct.
