The Samsung Galaxy TriFold is no longer a surprise. Samsung has now officially shown its latest foldable smartphone on display, and not just in render pictures but physically. It apparently appeared even before the upcoming APEC 2025 Summit, specifically at the K-Tech Showcase and thus at an event that’s connected with the summit.
Unfortunately, journalists and other attendees were not allowed to take a closer look at the Galaxy TriFold, hold it in their hand or even try it out. Instead, two units of the foldable have been mounted behind glass, as previously rumored. One of the Samsung phones was unfolded, the other one was folded. Since both sides of the phone can be folded, it’s a smartphone with a more or less compact footprint, but it will be thicker due to the triple-foldable form factor.
According to recent reports, the main screen of the Galaxy TriFold measures roughly 6.5 inches. This is the primary display that would be used when the phone is folded. When unfolded, the display grows to around 10 inches, which turns it into a possible tablet replacement or alternative. Initially, Samsung plans to manufacture 50,000 to 100,000 units of its new foldable. Furthermore, the company doesn’t plan a full-fledged global release, but will instead focus on specific countries. The launch will happen later this year, but the new Samsung phone won’t be targeting the mass market.
