Samsung Galaxy Z Tab: Rumors of an imminent foldable tablet may have been bogus
Word on the grapevine surfaced last week claiming Samsung's plan to launch a third foldable alongside the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 at Unpacked in August. Said foldable, supposedly styled as the "Galaxy Z Tab", was to be a tablet with a tri-folding design. It appears, however, that those rumors may have been inaccurate.
Multiple leakers and industry ITKs have now come out to show doubt as to the veracity of the rumors. Ross Young, typically reliable on such matters, claims Samsung has no plans to release such a device. No third foldable on the cards this year other than China-only models, the industry analyst says. Leaker Max Jambor and Danny Dorresteijn of Sammobile seem to share that opinion—and strongly, to boot.
It's safe to say Samsung will not be releasing a fantastic tri-folding tablet. Not this year, at least. Rumors of such a device have floated around for long enough that there's a significant chance of something similar being released by the company in the future. When, however, is unknown, and expectant fans will just have to wait.
No 3rd Samsung foldable in 2023 other than the China only models.
