Understatement. With a screen resolution of 1024x768 pixels in a 4:3 format, Samsung's 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab A presents itself as an ideal e-book reader, web-browsing device, and email machine. However, our test proves that the quad-core android has a lot more to offer.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is available for $229, and the larger Galaxy Tab A 9.7 also features a heftier price tag of $299, but is currently on Amazon with a price tag of $266.77. Further, an S-Pen can also be picked up with the 9.7-inch model for an additional $50, but keep in mind that the device itself doesn’t have a slot to house the stylus. Available color options for both tablets include White, Smoky Titanium, and Smoky Blue.

Model: The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 SM-T555 is tablet that can handle web browsing, eBooks and everyday portable office tasks with easy yet it has much more to offer than just that. Design is kept familiar with most of Samsung's portable devices such as the physical home key sandwiched between the application and back touch keys. The tablet is also lightweight at just 0.99 lb (0.45 kg) and comes in smoky titanium color. The back cover is kept simple with just the rear camera and Samsung branding on the matte textured finish. Running on Android 5.0 Lollipop, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 SM-T555 inherits all the benefits and applications that Android brings with the addition of being kid-friendly, safe and fun.Parents can have peace of mind with the Kids Mode that keeps all unwanted content hidden.
The tablet also comes with Microsoft Office that can certainly aid with productivity. The Wi-Fi device comes with a 9.7 inch PLS TFT display with a resolution of 1024x768 and performs fairly well as a mobile entertainment device. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM and an internal storage of 16 GB. There are a 5 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front facing camera. The 6000mAh Li-Ion battery lasts up to 14 hours during video playback.
Qualcomm Adreno 306: Integrated mid-range graphics card in the Snapdragon 410 SoCs that supports OpenGL ES 3.0 and features unified shaders.
These graphics cards are not suited for Windows 3D games. Office and Internet surfing however is possible.
