The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 2022 is only partially convincing

Samsung's Galaxy Tab A7 2022 appears modern but you can still notice that it already has some years under its belt.
Three years after its original launch, Samsung introduces an updated version of its affordable tablet. We summarize our test results here.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 is a 10.4-inch tablet that is supposed to particularly attract price-conscious buyers. Although it is really already three years old, it is now reintroduced with a new SoC and more current software.

You can get the LTE version of the new revision for about 200 Euros (~$221) for example from Amazon in Germany and a pure WLAN version is also available there. Nothing has changed in the case, but the tablet still looks fairly up to date in this regard. Samsung should only have smoothed the rough edges in the transition from the screen to the frame.

Things look more critical in the equipment. Samsung also introduces the new Galaxy Tab A7 2022 with only 32 GB of storage, which is not up to the current standards anymore considering the competitors in this price segment. The storage will only be sufficient for those who only plan to install very few apps. At least you can store images, videos, and music on a microSD card.

The camera has also aged and likes to produce some image artifacts in our test unit, for example in very dark surroundings but also under full studio light.

The display of the Galaxy Tab A7 2022 is darker than that of the predecessor and can therefore only really be used without difficulties indoors.

At least Samsung has updated the SoC and is now offering an affordable tablet with a relatively high performance that is mostly sufficient for stutter free performance in everyday operation. However, the Galaxy Tab A7 2022 continues to be anything but a gaming tablet.

The case hardly heats up under longer load, and the tablet runs very efficiently, so that the battery life is also convincing. The powerful battery surely has a large part in this. On the other hand, we don't like that Samsung again includes a very weak charger, preventing you from easily taking advantage of the full charging potential of 15 watts.
