Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+

91.3% Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ (Plus) 5G review – Expensive high-quality 12.4-inch tablet | Notebookcheck
If the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 has too little storage and the Tab S9 Ultra is too expensive, Samsung also offers an alternative with up to 512 GB of storage and a 12.4-inch display with the Galaxy Tab S9+. Is this the "golden middle"? We find out in our test.
80% Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ Review: The Same Old Middleweight Champion
Source: Make Use Of English
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ offers a solid middle ground in the tablet market with its impressive AMOLED display and inclusive S Pen, geared towards users who need a device for both work and play. It stands out for those in the Samsung ecosystem looking for a reliable multitasker. Yet, for all its perks, the tablet might fall short for users who prioritize a wide selection of tablet-optimized apps.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+: Not The Android Tablet You’Re Looking For
Source: USA Today English
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ is a great tablet, in a vacuum – but it doesn’t exist in a vacuum. If you’re looking for a big workhorse to get work done on, why not just go all out for the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra? With up to 1TB of internal storage and an optional keyboard case with an integrated trackpad that makes working in DeX mode feel great, it’s a good choice for pros that need a lot of Android computing power, on the go. The Ultra costs more than the S9+, but you get more. Or, if you’re looking for something for portable media consumption and gaming, why not stick to the cheaper but still excellent Galaxy Tab S9? It has a brighter display with a higher resolution–perfect for binge watching your favorite shows. And for those willing to wander away from the Samsung brand, the OnePlus Pad is an outstanding device that punches well above its price point, with a display and power that rivals that of the Tab S9+. What we’re getting at is that there’s nothing particularly wrong with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+. But there are better options out there, for almost every scenario.

93% Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus review: a balanced choice
Source: Root Nation English
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus, like the entire Galaxy Tab S9 series, are arguably the best Android tablets on the market at the moment. It is difficult to find a reasonable alternative to them. The only competitor is the Apple iPad, which many consider the king of this market. There is no denying that the Cupertino company knows how to make good tablets. Will Samsung be able to compete with them? I think absolutely yes. I’m not going to try to determine who is the best in this competition because there are too many variables involved. However, I am convinced that many people will have a hard time choosing the best device. Is Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus the most interesting option to buy? In theory, yes. The regular Galaxy Tab S9 looks like a standard tablet that you can use in your hands. The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, on the other hand, is a real monster that I think may lose some of its mobility, and I see it more like an Android laptop than a real tablet.

90% Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ review: Goldilocks edition
Source: Android Police English
I'll absolutely be picking up a Galaxy Tab S9+, as I do every time Samsung releases a new model. I like tablets, and I love Android, and Samsung makes the best Android tablets, hands-down. Yes, this year is mostly a reiteration of the previous installment with some fine-tuning. So, for most, I wouldn't recommend the upgrade if you already own an S8, as you won't gain much by splashing out. But if you don't have a Galaxy Tab S device that's recent or are simply looking for an iPad Pro competitor that runs Android, the Tab S9 series is it. And, really, the Galaxy Tab S9+ hits the sweet spot of size and portability. It's that simple, and it's why I can easily recommend the device. Of course, I will be waiting for a sale, and with Christmas around the corner, I bet we'll see some great deals before the year is out.

Review: The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ Is Handy for Light Work Tasks, Great for Entertainment
Source: Mashable English
The three models are the Galaxy Tab S9, S9+, and S9 Ultra. Each possess similar specs including the Dynamix AMOLED 2X displays to ensure sharp viewing and entertainment experiences, as well as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets that power them. Naturally, they have slight differences to set them apart. For example, the Tab S9 comes with 8GB of RAM, while the S9+ and S9 Ultra have 12GB. The screen sizes also differ across models. The S9 is 11 inches, the S9+ is 12.4 inches, and the S9 Ultra is 14.6 inches. All three come with the in-box IP68-rated S Pen, heralded to "bring ideas to life".

80% Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus review: Should you buy it?
Source: Android Authority English
We’re not advocating for choosing your next tablet based on its cameras, but the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus’ setup is worth mentioning anyway. Like its predecessor, the 12.9-inch slate features two rear cameras, with the 13MP primary sensor now backed by an 8MP ultrawide snapper — up from 6MP. The two rear cameras have also shifted from a single pill-shaped cutout to two individual rings, much like the Galaxy S23 series. Samsung’s 12MP selfie shooter sits in landscape orientation along the top bezel. If there’s one drawback to Samsung’s premium tablet, it’s the price. The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus picked up a $100 increase over its predecessor, bringing the base model to a cool $1,000. You can point to the extra base RAM and storage to help justify said cost, but the 5G-enabled version and 512GB model rise to $1,149 and $1,199, respectively.

60% Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 family review: easier choices
Source: The Verge English
Compared to last year’s Tab S8 lineup, there are two tangible upgrades in the S9s: a new Qualcomm processor that promises to be a little faster (though speed and performance were never really issues in last year’s tablets), and IP68 water and dust resistance, just like most modern smartphones. That means you can use these tablets around a pool or bathtub, or more likely, you just won’t have to worry about life’s little mishaps at the coffee shop or when a toddler surprises you with their range when throwing a sippy bottle. I don’t know of any other non-rugged tablets that have this kind of water resistance — Android, iPad, or otherwise — so it’s a legitimate differentiator for Samsung’s models and a nice thing to have.

85% Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus Review: Excellent!
Source: Phone Arena English
The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus is a minor but successful refresh of Samsung's existing tablet lineup. It's not a bad thing at all: little changes were needed, as previous Galaxy Tab Plus devices were already at the top of their game, so minor improvement here and there actually go a long way. While I've always technically liked the mid-sized Galaxy tablet, this year I'm head over heels enamored with the more compact Galaxy Tab S9, which packs the same hardware and lovely screen in a more compact package. Surely, the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus is by no means a worse device, it's just slightly bigger but also more expensive, so I don't really see why you should pick this one in favor of the smaller Galaxy Tab S9.

With a 10,800mAh battery compared to 10,090 in the Galaxy Tab S8 Plus, I get about the same battery life. But the new high-intensity HDR boost means that the time for film streaming can be shortened. It depends on what you’re watching and the lighting environment you’re in. In any case, I can use the tablet at home all day from morning to bedtime, at least as long as I’m not playing games or running heavy productivity apps. The battery can then be charged fairly quickly with up to 45W of USB charging. But you’ll have to get your own charger for that, it’s not included. With a compatible charger, I can fill a depleted battery in about an hour and a half. It seems to take a long time with the last 20%, probably because it’s more gentle on the battery. And that could be a good thing, because if you spend the kind of money Samsung wants for a Galaxy Tab S9 Plus, it should last a while.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series: Powerful tablets for work, content creation, and entertainment

Mobile devices are getting better and better. This includes tablets, which can do most things a PC can. Already, some people are using tablets as laptop replacements. But what tablet should you pick for work, movies, and maybe some gaming on the side? If you ask us, the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series tablets fit the bill. They're high-performance tablets suitable for students, content creators, business users, and anyone who wants a great entertainment device. Here are some reasons to get a Galaxy Tab S9 tablet:

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus hands-on review: Come for the AMOLED, stay for the speakers
Source: Zdnet.com English
If you are considering any of the Tab S9 models, you should make your purchase during the pre-order time period since Samsung is providing a free storage upgrade. For the same price as the entry-level tablet, you can upgrade to 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage for free. Don't forget you can also add a microSD card with up to 1TB of storage. If you are going to primarily use the tablet without a keyboard, with one app on the display most of the time, and in portrait orientation, then the Tab S9 is your best option. If you plan to attach an external keyboard, use a couple of apps side-by-side, and want a second rear camera, then the Tab S9 Plus is the better choice.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus Hands-on Review: The right choice
Source: Phone Arena English
The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus is shaping up to be a mild, but successful refresh of Samsung's existing tablet lineup. It took two years for Samsung to follow up its Galaxy Tab S8 series, and the improvements are minimal, but surgically-made. The new chipset will surely elevate the performance and endurance to new heights, and with a starting price of $999, we can see how the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus is shaping up to be a very good deal. We have high hopes for the upcoming S Pen-wielding tablet, and judging from previous years, Samsung is unlikely to disappoint us. Stay tuned for our full review!

First Impressions: Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus
Source: Trusted Reviews English
If you like the spacious screen found on the Tab S9 Ultra but want the portability of the Tab S9, the Tab S9 Plus is the obvious compromise. The AMOLED display is bright and vibrant, making it fantastic for streaming TV shows and movies, but the tablet isn’t as large and unwieldy as the top-of-the-line Tab S9 Ultra. It’s also a good chunk cheaper. After spending a brief time with the Tab S9 Plus, I’d also recommend the tablet to digital artists and photo editors over the standing Tab S9, as there’s a good amount more space to work.

Hands on: Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 and Tab S9 Plus review
Source: Techradar English
Samsung unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series at Samsung Unpacked 2023, with the standard Tab S9 and S9 Plus arriving alongside the Tab S9 Ultra (head over to our Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra review for an early look at that device, as well as our Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 pre-orders page for the best deals live now). We’ve already seen both the Tab S9 and S9 Plus in person, but we haven’t spent enough time with either tablet to come to a full verdict on their pros and cons just yet. Mind you, the upgrades on offer here are clear: for the Tab S9, you’re getting a brighter screen, a faster processor, a slightly bigger battery, more RAM options and an IP68 water resistance rating. For the larger Plus model, the improvements are mostly the same, though instead of a battery size increase and display upgrade, Samsung has included a beefier ultra-wide sensor on the rear of the tablet. The Tab S9 Plus is available in 512GB storage options, too.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, S9 Plus and S9 Ultra hands-on review: Everything you need to know
Source: Expert Reviews English
It’s taken Samsung a while to update its premium tablet range, but with most of the changes fairly minor in nature, this generation doesn’t look like one to get particularly excited about. Dust and water resistance are nice but less essential for a tablet than a phone. And while it’s great that the entry-level model now has an OLED screen, that’s probably something it ought to have had in the previous generation anyway. Plus, those prices do look rather high, with the Tab S9 starting at £799, the S9 Plus at £999 and the Tab S9 Ultra at £1,199. Still, it’s too early to deliver a definitive verdict, so we’ll be holding back from doing so until we get our hands on review samples. If you can’t wait for that, however, all three tablets will be up on the Samsung website for pre-order from Wednesday, 26 July, and on sale officially from Friday, 11 August.

Comment

Model:

The latest to join the Samsung family is none other than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus. Simply put, this device slots between the 11-inch Galaxy Tab S9 and the 14.6-inch Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Basically, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus offers a larger battery than the base model while skipping the notched dual-selfie setup and enormous size of the high-end Ultra — making it just right. It is a known fact that the Galaxy Tab S8 series had an Armor Aluminum frame, a Gorilla Glass display, and punchy AKG-tuned stereo speakers. Well, the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus matches the Tab S8 Plus’ same tough materials except for its speakers which are 20% larger, and the entire series is IP68-rated against water and dust which is a real rarity for a tablet. As far as its display is concerned, Samsung has added one key upgrade to the 12.9-inch display on its Galaxy Tab S9 Plus which is the Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. It is worth noting that this is an improvement over the previous generation’s Super AMOLED. As a result, the new panel is slightly more colour-accurate and does not emit as much blue light. In addition, the 120Hz refresh rate remains buttery smooth, HDR10+ support is a must-have for Netflix and Max streaming, and more generally the 16:10 ratio is a great fit for landscape video and other content.

In terms of its S Pen, Samsung has found a way to cut its latency by more than half by bringing it down to just 2.8ms from the previous 6.2ms. This is definitely a great improvement for anyone using their Galaxy Tab for Adobe Illustrator or Procreate. Apart from that, the IP68-rated S Pen can be used for almost all navigation, as it is much easier than trying to reach across the massive display with a single hand. Furthermore, Samsung’s latest S Pen still has the customizable side button, too, which is a quicker way to grab a screenshot than reaching for the power and volume buttons. As for its performance, the thermal-hogging Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor has been replaced by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. This upgraded version of Qualcomm’s flagship chipset boosts the CPU and GPU speeds, giving the Tab S9 Plus a little extra edge in gaming and entertainment. Apart from that, the chipset has been backed by 12GB of RAM across the board with 256GB of storage in the base configuration. In terms of its battery, this model carries the same 10,090mAh battery as its predecessor, so any significant battery improvements come from the upgraded Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy processor. In a nutshell, it is a great device to be explored, depending on the need and preference of the user.

Qualcomm Adreno 740: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is integrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 25% faster than the Adreno 730 in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and first benchmarks show that the GPU can beat the Apple A16 iGPU (previously the fastest smartphone GPU).

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

SD 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy: High-end SoC for smartphones that was introduced in late 2022 with a fast prime core based on a ARM Cortex-X3 architecture clocked at up to 3.36 GHz. Two more performance cores are based on the A715 and also support only 64 bit applications. The two additional A710 cores support also 32 bit applications as do the power saving Cortex-A510 cores. In addition to the processor cores, the SoC integrates a WiFi 7 modem, a Hexagon DSP (for AI acceleration) and a Spectra ISP. The integrated memory controller supports fast LPDDR5x memory with up to 4,200 MHz. 5G is included in the chip with the Snapdragon X70 modem. Compared to the normal SD 8 Gen 2, the "for Galaxy" version offers a 160 MHz higher clocked prime core.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

12.40":

This range of display format is largely the upper limit for tablets and the lower limit for subnotebooks.

The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small in size and therefore easily portable. The tiny display has the added advantage of requiring little power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is exhausting for the eyes. High resolutions, which one is used to from a standard laptop, are almost not usable.

The same applies to tablets in this size range.
