Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+
In our test, the 11-inch Galaxy Tab A9+ proved to be a fast and far-better-quipped successor to the much-loved Galaxy Tab A8. For a starting price of US$219.99, the tablet offers a 90-Hz display, more storage, optional 5G and for the first time, Samsung DeX. Adding to this is a generous update time period of 4 years. The tablet is set to receive Android 14 in February.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ is a compelling package for the price. It handles daily productivity tasks without any problems thanks to Samsung's software tweaks, performs well when it comes to streaming media, and runs even intensive games moderately well. And if you need cellular support, a 5G-compatible version is available. The battery life and the base storage could both be better, but that doesn't prevent the Tab A9+ from earning our Editors' Choice award for affordable Android tablets.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ is a big step up in nearly every category from the previous generation of the series. The build materials, internal components, and software have all improved. While I can't say from experience that the performance is guaranteed to be better on the 8GB RAM model, the 4GB version has its struggles. If my testing of an 8GB RAM configuration of the Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE is any indication, then you can and should opt for that setup from Samsung. Samsung's software is a strong point for this tablet, even if the internal hardware doesn't allow it to shine fully. OneUI 6 is relatively clean, and the mature multitasking features are quite useful on the tablet. While the overall hardware is quite nice with the aluminum casing, it's not a bad idea to give it some added protection with one of the top Galaxy Tab A9+ cases should you decide this is the tablet for you.

For a tablet that performs well for everyday use without breaking the bank, the Tab A9 Plus takes the gold medal in my book. Plus, with a sale, scoring a deal on the Tab A9 Plus would certainly be a win for value for money. At $329.99, this tablet is underrated, and for anyone looking for a sleek, powerful entry-level tablet, this might be the best bang for your buck.

I’ll also mention the cameras as they’re, well, there, but they remain unchanged from the Galaxy Tab A8. That means you’re working with a front-facing 5MP sensor in the top bezel and a single 8MP shooter on the back. Both cameras are incredibly soft when used indoors, turning in images that look more like you tried to pause a video and take a screenshot rather than intentionally capture stills. The selfie camera is acceptable for the occasional video call, especially if you want to use wired headphones, but you probably won’t be sharing any images from this tablet if you have a remotely capable smartphone on hand. All told, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 Plus is an excellent value if you’re searching for a budget-friendly tablet. It picks up right where its predecessor left off, yet picks up key upgrades to the display, processor, and software outlook while sinking to an even more approachable price.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ offers just about everything that you could want from a budget tablet. It’s got an understated but refined design, a slick OS and great performance, making it ideal for streaming videos and surfing the web. Perhaps a few years ago, this would’ve been our top choice for budget tablet buyers. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Pad SE offers longer battery life, a superior screen and a cheaper price. In addition, the Tab A9 is much friendlier on the old purse strings and has some similar specs to the Tab A9+, just in a smaller form factor. However, if you want that larger 11in screen and would prefer to stick with the Samsung software and brand, then you won’t regret investing in the Tab A9+.

Ultimately, it’s a tablet aimed at those who don’t need the raw power of a Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Schoolwork, streaming media, and cloud-based productivity tasks would all go nicely on the more affordable device.

Qualcomm Adreno 619: Integrated (in the Snapdragon 750G) graphics card based on the Adreno 600 architecture. The performance is a lot better than the old Adreno 612.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

This is a standard display format for tablet computers or small convertibles. You see more on the screen than on a smartphone but you can't use big resolutions well. On the other hand, mobility is not a problem.

79.13%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
