Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE is much cheaper than any other Tab S model. It doesn't have an OLED screen and also cuts some corners in terms of performance. Find out if Samsung's pared-down tablet is still worthwhile here.

Like most Android products these days, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE is a pretty minor refresh over the Galaxy Tab S9 FE, and that’s not a bad thing. Tablets aren’t replaced as often as smartphones, for most people, they get replaced every 4+ years. So doing incremental updates every year is not a bad thing here. If you’re looking for a somewhat low-cost tablet that is also not insanely large like the OnePlus Pad 3 and the iPad Pro, then the Galaxy Tab S10 FE is a great pickup.

If you're in the market for a tablet that will continue to be supported with software updates for the better part of the next decade, but you do not want to spend more than what a new mid-range tablet typically commands, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE might just be a fit for you. It'll be an excellent tablet for students aiming to multitask on a screen that's bigger than their smartphone, or casual users looking for a large-screen device to jot notes or stream their favorite movies and shows on. Google and Samsung's AI smarts are a bonus on top, capable of aiding you with homework, brainstorming ideas, and even summarizing lengthy papers on the fly. Visual purists, power users, photographers, and those seeking a more powerful overall experience might want to explore alternatives with a higher price tag.

If you're looking for a versatile Android tablet that's a capable all-rounder, without the flagship costs, then Samsung's Galaxy Tab S10 FE is a nicely balanced product. It looks the part, it's great for streaming and even some gaming, despite its mid-tier credentials. And while Android isn't the greatest in a laptop-replacement setup, Samsung's One UI and inclusion of an S Pen stylus go some way to making this slate stand apart. That said, if you spot the Galaxy Tab S9 with its better OLED screen for similar money, then that's the one to go for.

On the other end of the spectrum, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10 Plus ($999.99 at Samsung) is probably the best Android tablet you can buy right now. It’s not as large as the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, nor does it have quite as many cameras — who needs four cameras on a tablet — but it has an excellent anti-reflective coating on its display which makes it easier to use outdoors and the Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset offers more punch than the in-house Exynos 1580 can match. The Galaxy Tab S10 Plus also offers an even bigger battery than the Galaxy Tab S10 FE at 10,090mAh, so its 45W wired charging is a must-have if you ever want to get your tablet off the charger again. And then, there’s the iPad.

So, to wrap up this review of the Galaxy Tab S10 FE, I feel like the biggest strength Samsung has is in terms of the software experience! One UI 7 is clean, easy to use, and it also has some useful AI features like “Circle to Search” and “Object eraser”. There are also some fun tricks in their notes app that students can take advantage of, by the way. However, performance still remains the biggest hurdle for me to recommend this tablet to a power user. So, if you are an absolute casual user who does nothing more than watching YouTube videos, taking video calls, taking notes, and browsing the internet, and you use a Samsung phone and want a Samsung tablet, it makes sense to get this. Otherwise, if you are looking for better value and better specs — for me — the Xiaomi Pad 7 or the iPad 11th gen are better and cheaper options.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE is yet another accomplished mid-range tablet from the company, with an excellent (and now slightly lighter) design and the best bundled stylus in the game. Performance has taken an appreciable step forward, while the new Exynos 1580 chip also appears to have nudged battery life in the right direction. All of these tweaks and changes feel a little like fiddling at the margins, however. This is still, to all intents and purposes, the same device as the 2023 Galaxy Tab S9 FE. Iteration is expected, to some extent, especially in the tablet market. However, with an accompanying price bump and some very strong competition, this lack of advancement sees Samsung’s Tab FE range slipping back in the pecking order.

Mostly yes. Buying the Tab S10 FE instead of the Tab S10+ means taking a drop in screen size, display quality, and performance, but that's fair enough given the corresponding drop in price. Samsung's One UI remains one of the most polished Android implementations, with AI features within easy reach, while the combination of DEX and the S-Pen makes the Tab S10 FE a superior option for business use. There's some stiff competition out there from the OnePlus Pad 2, while the entry-level iPad Air has the advantage of a superior app ecosystem and the desktop-class Apple M3 CPU, and only costs £100 more. All the same, those in the market for a business-grade Android tablet will find the Tab S10 FE a strong mid-range contender.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE is a “classic” fun tablet, in that it’s great for media and general use. This is not a work machine, isn’t for editing 4K video or anything so niche, and I like it due to this honesty. If you’re already a Samsung smartphone owner the Galaxy Tab S10 FE is a great as the software will be familiar, there are tools such as Quick Share which sync the two devices together nicely, and you’ll be able to use the same Samsung account on both. Even if you own another Android phone, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE is a well made, durable, and capable enough tablet to be used every day, for most tasks. If you have no such brand allegiances, it’s hard not to recommend the Apple iPad instead, particularly as one can be purchased for $350 if you’re not worried about storage space.

The Galaxy Tab S10 FE is a minor refresh if we've ever seen one. It's slightly thinners and has a new chip, but is also $50 costlier than before… And that basically exhausts the list of "improvements" to Samsung's new tablet. Samsung might have naturally cut some corners here and there, but overall, it might prove challenging to find any major flaws with an affordable tablet like this one. The use case for these is pretty broad, making them one of the cheapest ways to experience Android on a large screen. With a starting price of $500, it's certainly a very affordable tablet that's also getting supported for seven years, so it's normal to expect fewer changes and improvements. The older Galaxy Tab S9 FE is also still pretty viable, so upgrading to the newer one doesn't make a lot of sense. If you're about to jump into the Samsung ecosystem right now and want an affordable, no-nonsense tablet, this one is a pretty viable option.

Samsung Xclipse 540: Integrated GPU in the Exynos 1580 SoC and probably based on the AMD RDNA 2 architecture (like the older Xclipse 920). The GPU integrates 2 WGPs (4 CUs) and is said to be 37% faster with 20% less power consumption (probably compared to the Xclipse 530).
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

This is a standard display format for tablet computers or small convertibles. You see more on the screen than on a smartphone but you can't use big resolutions well. On the other hand, mobility is not a problem.

79.84%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
