The rumored Galaxy S25 Slim would be the fourth model in the Galaxy S25 lineup alongside the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. The smartphone is probably the most exciting device in Samsung’s upcoming quartet, because the South Korean tech giant is finally trying something new here. The S25 Slim is likely to become the thinnest Galaxy flagship smartphone ever and should rival the upcoming iPhone 17 Air. Despite its slim chassis, Samsung might be able to fit a periscope telephoto camera inside the Galaxy S25 Slim, which is a feature that won’t be found in the regular S25 and S25 Plus.
It remains to be seen whether these rumors are accurate. According to the South Korean analysis firm Meritz Securities (via @Jukanlosreve), Samsung is planning to include a proper periscope module, even though the one used for the 5x telephoto lens in the Galaxy S25 Ultra wouldn't fit into the thinner chassis of the Galaxy S25 Slim. Therefore, Samsung is reportedly introducing a brand-new technology. A few days ago, Samsung officially revealed its so-called "All Lenses on Prism (ALoP)" technology, which allows for periscope modules that are barely larger than conventional smartphone cameras.
Brighter, smaller and slimmer
Samsung asserts that this camera technology not only reduces the length of the periscope module by 22% but also decreases its height and thereby the camera bump, which is particularly beneficial for slim smartphones. Those expecting a decline in picture quality will also be pleasantly surprised, as Samsung promises improved brightness, an f/2.58 aperture at an equivalent focal length of 80mm to be more precise. According to latest forecasts, Samsung currently expects to sell 3 million Galaxy S25 Slim units, which is a relatively low estimated in relation to the 37 million units that are planned for the other three Galaxy S25 model variants.
