Apple's entire M4 MacBook line-up excels at both creative work and productivity use cases, but they cost a pretty penny. Now, thanks to a post-Christmas Amazon sale, the Apple MacBook Pro 14 with the M4 Pro SoC is down to just $1,699.
The Amazon deal actually makes the M4 Pro MacBook Pro 14 with 512 GB of storage and 24 GB of unified memory cheaper than the base model M4 MacBook Pro, even if the latter does have a larger SSD.
In our review of the 12-core M4 Pro SoC and the MacBook Pro 14, we found the highlights to be a bright (634 nits in SDR, 1,620 nits in HDR), colour accurate mini-LED display. For creators, the MacBook Pro 14's screen covers 99.7% of the DPI-P3 colour space, making it an excellent on-the-go video or photo editing workstation.
Efficiency was also a major plus point for the MacBook Pro 14 M4 Pro, with battery life in our Wi-Fi web browsing test with maximum screen brightness coming in at just over seven hours. Turn the display down and that battery life extends to as much as 15 hours.
While the discounted MacBook Pro 14 M4 Pro with 24 GB of unified memory and 512 GB of SSD storage isn't the cheapest of the lot, at $1,699 on Amazon, it has the best discount, at 15%. It also provides a decent value, balancing performance, battery life, and price quite well.
