Deal | Latest Acer Swift 16 AI Lunar Lake laptop with 3K OLED display drops to new record-low price
Acer introduced the Swift 16 AI at IFA 2024 back in September as an Intel Lunar Lake-based laptop with a starting price of $1,199.99. As is the case with most Windows laptops, the notebook has enjoyed some heavy discounts since its release. For instance, the Acer Swift 16 AI price reached its lowest-ever level of $899 earlier this month.
At the time of writing, the Acer Swift 16 AI laptop price has dropped even further to a new record-low of just $849.99. This new price is $350 or 29% lower than the list price, making the sale an enticing end-of-the-year promotion (linked at the end).
Acer Swift 16 AI: A 3K OLED panel and long runtimes
Starting with the specs of the machine, the Acer Swift 16 AI on sale is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 256V APU with an Arc 140V iGPU and 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Storage duties are handled by a 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD that is removable. The machine also gets a fairly large 75 Wh battery, Wi-Fi 7, and a 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) weight.
Port situation on the Acer Swift 16 AI is also pretty solid, as we are looking at two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two Type-A connectors, one HDMI 2.1 out, and a 3.5 mm jack. Sadly, there is no ethernet jack and microSD/full-sized SD card reader. So, if you need these connectors, you’d have to shop for a Type-C hub.
Finally, the Acer Swift 16 AI features a 16-inch 3K OLED display around the front. The panel boasts 100% DCI-P3 coverage, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and 500 nits of HDR brightness.
When it comes to the quality of the machine, we can expect the Acer Swift 16 AI to be a well-built modern laptop with a beautiful display, fast everyday CPU performance, good iGPU performance, and long battery life. Our review of the smaller Acer Swift 14 AI confirmed that Intel’s latest Lunar Lake APUs, although not performance beasts, are quite efficient.
As such, with a 65 Wh battery, the Acer Swift 14 AI lasted for an excellent 12.5 hours in our WLAN test. We can expect the same if not better runtimes from the Acer Swift 16 AI on sale, as the laptop packs a bigger 75 Wh cell.
So, the Acer Swift 16 AI (SF16-51T) boasts almost all the must-have features for a worthy everyday productivity/multimedia laptop.
