Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S25 series at the upcoming Unpacked event. While the company hasn't confirmed anything yet, this launch event is reportedly set for January 22, which is around the corner. As the launch nears, more and more information about the upcoming flagship phones is surfacing.
More specifically, a recent leak suggested that the company may announce the rumored Galaxy S25 Slim in the coming event. This new addition is rumored to be slimmer than the standard variant, coming in at under 7 mm. The iPhone 17 Air, on the other hand, will reportedly measure 6 mm thick.
Now, even though the Galaxy S25 Slim may not be thinner than the iPhone 17 Air, a new leak once again suggests that it could have a more capable camera setup. To fill you in, Apple's rumored thin phone could feature a single camera, similar to the SE lineup.
The Galaxy S25 Slim, according to the new report, will sport a flagship-grade triple-camera configuration (128 GB Pixel 9 Pro XL curr. $849 on Amazon). This is something that previous rumors have already hinted at, but the new leak does share some specifics. For example, it shares that the primary camera will be a 200 MP HP5 sensor, which will be paired with a 50 MP JN5 ultrawide, and a 50 MP JN5 3.5x telephoto.
About the telephoto camera, Samsung is expected to use its new ALoP technology to achieve a slim form factor. Besides that, the new leak reiterates previously reported information, such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, a 6.66-inch display, and a battery with around 5,000 mAh capacity. Interestingly, this leak asserts that the launch is set for Q2 2025, something that doesn't match with the recent reports.
