Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) is probably one of the most hotly-anticipated games to be released this quarter. It will be available on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4/4 Pro (for certain). RDR2 promises gamers extensive explorations through a Wild West-themed world, in which the main character evades the law, tracks enemies and generally live as a circa-1880s badass. Its creator, Rockstar Games, has a new add-on for the game this time around: the RDR2 Companion App.
This app is available on Android and iOS, and allows a phone or tablet running it to sync with a console powering the game at the same time. The Companion App is intended to show maps, stats, journal entries and other things that might normally require a call to a menu in-game. The app also houses a digital game manual, an optional digital version of RDR2 as well as the game's Complete Official Guide.
The RDR2 Companion App can also be used to summon the character's stats and other info, thus allowing the player to remove the normal head-up display (HUD) from the main monitor. This may enhance the immersive nature and quality of the game. Rockstar has presumably announced this new feature now so that gamers can have the app downloaded and ready to go when the game itself is released. This event is in only 2 days from now.
