The second installment of Red Dead Redemption has been announced as launching soon. However, this news is not great for PC gamers, as the game is thought to be only available for consoles. A recent listing by an e-tailer appears to have given some hopes that this may be wrong, then snatched it away again.

Red Dead Redemption is slated for release in a few days from now. Based on the success of its predecessor, it may be a major hit for its makers, Rockstar Games. However, this may not be good news for everyone. There are no indications that there will be a PC version of this game. On the other hand, MediaMarkt may appear to think there will be.

This Europe-wide online retailer had posted a listing for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC. This entry applied to its Swedish store. However, it was quickly removed thereafter, despite being captured by the Dutch site TechTastic, Therefore, there is now no evidence that RDR2 really will be coming to any platforms besides  Xbox and PlayStation.

There are numerous good reasons for thinking the MediaMarkt listing was a mistake at best. It may have been the result of a staff member posting new or upcoming products by rote, and adding the wrong hardware symbol by mistake. It also should be noted that the game in the listing has the release date December 31, whereas the console versions do not. Then again, Rockstar has owed at least some of its success through the supple of the Grand Theft Auto series for PC.
