After a vague Ubisoft update, Insider Gaming has clarified which Rayman games are in development. The publisher is prioritizing a Rayman remake, but also has preliminary plans for Rayman 4. Players haven't seen a mainline platformer game in the series since the 2013 Rayman Legends.

Fans were craving news about new Rayman games to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the platformer series. While a Ubisoft video confirmed projects were in the works, the lack of specifics disappointed followers. However, Insider Gaming has shared more details about upcoming Rayman titles.

The game that may be first to arrive is a remake of a Rayman classic. Tom Henderson first reported on the existence of the title in October 2024, under the name Project Steambot. Unfortunately, it’s unclear which Rayman it will pay tribute to or if it will combine multiple games. Henderson explains that Steambot has made significant progress and is targeting a release date in late 2026.

Fans of the platformer games could also finally see the arrival of Rayman 4. Still, development is in the early stages, and it will be in danger if the Rayman remake underwhelms. Gamers will likely need patience, as the sequel to the 2003 Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc may not surface until 2030. Several rumored fourth installments never materialized, including an effort that began in 2005.

Rayman games originated in 1995 with an initial release serving as a PlayStation launch title. It earned a following for its charming protagonist, vibrant art style, and challenging mechanics. One question players may have is whether a remake of the original would stick to its 2D formula. The platformer shifted to 3D graphics before returning to its more basic visuals with Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends.

Facing financial struggles, Ubisoft announced earlier in 2025 that it would focus on established franchises. According to Henderson, players can expect Ubisoft games that revisit Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, and Prince of Persia.
