Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 launch, like many Blackwell SKUs before it, didn't get off to a smooth start. For starters, the company is actively disincentivizing reviewers from examining the RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB. Plus, its supply might be as bad as the rest of the lineup. Thankfully, you might not have to wait long for an AMD alternative: the Radeon RX 9060 XT.
A Chiphell poster says AMD could unveil the Radeon RX 9060 XT sometime in May. Like the RTX 5060 Ti, it is rumoured to arrive in 8 GB and 16 GB flavours. Both should ideally launch alongside each other to offer gamers more choice. Noted X leaker @AnhPhuH chimes in, stating AMD will unveil the RX 9060 XT at Computex (May 20-23), and that the GPUs will hit shelves two weeks later in early June.
While there has been no single consensus on what the Radeon RX 9060 XT has in store, it is widely believed to pack a Navi 44 GPU with 20 Gbps GDDR6 VRAM modules on a 128-bit bus and require just a 500 Watt PSU. Performance-wise, it is expected to outperform the RTX 4060 Ti, and likely even the RTXC 5060 Ti, at least without AI-powered shenanigans.
As far as its price goes, the 8 GB RX 9060 XT could cost $299 and the 16 GB version $379. Of course, these are rumoured prices that could change at the last minute. That leaves us with questions about its non-XT variant, but there's no evidence of such a card existing, let along launching anytime soon. If you have a little more cash to spare and the RX 9070 XT doesn't pique your interest, rumour has it AMD will unveil the RX 9070 XTX with 32 GB VRAM sometime in May, likely at Computex.
