We reported previously that the RX 9060 XT was scheduled to arrive in either late May or early June 2025 after an unveiling at Computex 2025. Similarly, it was also expected that the RX 9070 GRE could be released in May. However, information circulating on Board Channels now alleges that AMD has changed its plans.
Starting with the Radeon RX 9060 XT, AMD has reportedly decided to release the RX 9060 XT, both 16 GB and 8 GB versions, earlier than previously anticipated. The GPU could now be launched on May 18th, a couple of days before Computex 2025. So, at Computex 2025, AMD could take the opportunity to show partner cards or present more first-party benchmarks.
For the RX 9070 GRE, AMD is seemingly pushing the launch of the GPU back to the end of the year. The information from Board Channels suggests that the RX 9070 GRE was initially set to launch on May 8th. However, the RX 9070 GRE could now be coming out in Q4 2025, before the Chinese 11.11 shopping season.
11.11 or the “Singles’ Day” commences on November 11th every year. It is the biggest shopping festival in China, so the RX 9070 GRE release date coinciding with 11.11 makes a lot of sense.
Thankfully, May is just around the corner. So, we won’t have to wait long to find out what AMD has in store for gamers with the RX 9060 XT. However, going by the leaked specifications, performance, and price, the RX 9060 XT could be too much to handle for the RTX 5060 non-Ti, which is also releasing in May.
