New information from AMD suggests competitive pricing for the RDNA 4 GPUs. With the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti scarce, the RX 9070 XT may cost less with capable 4K performance. The speculation will soon end with an official announcement on February 28.

With the AMD Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT release date anticipated on March 6th, exact pricing still remains a mystery. Leaks from retailers have pointed to MSRPs in the $549 to $749 range, which would match the Nvidia RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti. However, AMD recently shared a slide showing slightly more competitive pricing, at least for the RX 9070 XT. VideoCardz has posted press materials indicating that the RDNA 4 GPU would sell for under $700.

The biggest takeaway from the media slide is the claim that 85% of gamers purchase video cards for under $700. For now, AMD has no plans to release a high-end GPU similar to rival the RTX 5090. The manufacturer is instead targeting the mid-range market, but the RX 9070 XT could be an enticing value for 4K gaming. Early benchmarks have also shown vastly improved ray-tracing performance with AMD's new GPUs.

The press image justifies claims that the RX 9070 XT would cost $699. Famous tech leaker David Huang also agreed with that prediction in a new X post. Still, taxes would send the GPU well above that mark. Also, overclocked cards are subject to markups. A $649 RX 9070 XT allows the GPU to compare even more favorably against the $749 and higher RTX 5070 Ti.

AMD is hosting a YouTube event on February 28, during which the costs for the RX 9000 series will likely be confirmed. That's still not soon enough for buyers hoping for improved stock levels compared to the RTX 5000 series.

Without multi-frame generation active, gamers have also criticized the performance boosts of Blackwell GPUs. AMD can cut into Nvidia's market share by shipping enough RX 9000 series cards and offering more raw power for the price.
