Scalpers are drooling over the prospect of flipping the RTX 5070. Even so, gamers can target many different models priced at $549.99. With the RTX 5070 release date approaching, more U.S. retailers are listing the GPUs.

RTX 5070 Ti pricing disappointed many gamers, with most options listed well above $749.99. After stock shortages, the graphics cards often sell for more than the $999.99 Nvidia RTX 5080 Founders Edition. The RTX 5070 release date is March 5th, and so far, retailers have listed most versions at $549.99.

The RTX 5070 drew the most skepticism at Nvidia's CES 2025 presentation. Jensen Huang shared a slide promising an RTX 4090 gaming experience at a dramatically lower price. However, as seen with other RTX 50 series benchmarks, performance likely won't impress without multi-frame generation. Nevertheless, until the RTX 5060 arrives, the RTX 5070 will be the cheapest path to DLSS 4 support.

Best Buy, Micro Center, and Newegg are three U.S. stores with RTX 5070 cards already listed. MSI, Gigabyte, and Zotac GPUs all offer possibilities at $549.99. Gamers are watching the Asus Prime RTX 5070 after some controversy with the Prime RTX 5080. This Blackwell graphics card was initially for sale at $999.99 to meet the first review embargo criteria. Then, buyers saw its price skyrocket by more than 20% the following week. The Prime RTX 5070 Ti was also priced above $749.99, but that changed before its release date.

Nvidia is facing some heat, with the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT debuting on March 6th. With similar specs, the AMD GPUs should compete with the RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti. The announced $599 price for the RX 9070 XT pleasantly surprised some gamers. At $150 less than the RTX 5070 Ti, its improved ray tracing capabilities make it an attractive value. On the other hand, the less powerful $549 RX 9070 isn't as tempting. If DLSS 4 proves superior to FSR 4, the RTX 5070 may win this head-to-head battle.

Buyers should remember that custom RTX 5070 prices may change before its March 5th release date. Still, with an Nvidia Founders Edition to compete with, there is more chance to score the GPU at MSRP.
