Over at Nvidia’s website, the company still lists the RTX 5070 Ti and the RTX 5070 as coming in February. For the RTX 5070 Ti, this seems to be the case as multiple reports have now confirmed that gamers will be able to buy the RTX 5070 Ti starting February 20. However, the RTX 5070 Ti's launch supply is allegedly quite limited. So, it is wise to prepare some strategies in advance.
In the case of the RTX 5070, Nvidia’s advertised release schedule might be getting a revision soon, as multiple leaks have now suggested a March 2025 launch. For instance, Moore’s Law Is Dead claimed a few days ago that the RTX 5070, which “looks pretty bad”, is coming in March. Leaker MEGAsizeGPU has now corroborated this rumor by stating that the RTX 5070 “will be delayed” and will show up on store shelves in early March.
RTX 5070 vs RX 9070 to go head-to-head in early March
On the surface, Nvidia seemingly delaying the RTX 5070 is not a big deal. It could even be classified as good, as it will give Nvidia more time to amass stock. However, the situation becomes quite interesting when we consider that the RX 9070 and the RX 9070 XT are reportedly releasing on March 6.
So, in early March, the RTX 5070 and the RX 9070 will clash in what is bound to be a pretty serious battle. If we go by leaks, the RX 9070 seems to have a clear advantage over the RTX 5070. The GPU not only has more VRAM but is also alleged to perform better than the RX 7900 GRE and might come in cheaper than Nvidia’s offering.
In short, if you are in the market for a mid-range GPU, early March is when the action is apparently going to be. Hopefully, the purported RTX 5070 delay means a much better supply, since we don’t want to see a repeat of the RTX 5090/5080 situation.
