The 32 GB variant of the RX 9070 XT has become the focus of the rumor mill over the past few days. While AMD’s Frank Azor has denied the existence of such a card, the leaker who revealed the 32 GB RX 9070 XT doubled down on the information a few days ago, claiming that the GPU might be titled the “RX 9070 XTX”.
To show the sheer absurdity and wrongness of these rumors, Frank Azor has decided to shoot them down with a healthy dose of sarcasm.
Get ready for the AMD Radeon RX 90700.05XTXT Max
Replying to Videocardz’s post on X mentioning the RX 9070 XTX with 32 GB VRAM, Frank Azor sarcastically corrected the information and explained that the GPU is “a 320 GB card we are calling the 90700.05XTXT Max”. You read that right, a “90700.05XTXT Max”.
However, Frank Azor didn’t stop there and ridiculed the information further with the revelation that the card “features new 96 pin power connectors” and requires a “1.21 gigawatts PSU”. When asked whether this power-hungry monstrosity is able to “beat the RTX 5090” at 600 W, Mr. Azor claimed a victory “only in raster”.
On a serious note, if there was still any doubt regarding the 32 GB RX 9070 XT or XTX RDNA 4 GPU, it should now be cleared. AMD has now categorically denied the existence of such a card not once but twice. It remains to be seen whether Zhangzhonghao, the leaker behind the original leak, retracts or stands firm on their assertion.
