ROG Strix OLED XG27UQDMS: New Asus 240 Hz gaming monitor receives earlier than expected release

Asus has quietly released a new 4K and 240 Hz OLED gaming monitor. For context, the company just started selling the ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM3 in China ahead of a global rollout before the end of March. This time, the ROG Strix OLED XG27UQDMS has reached the UK before hitting other markets.
Another Gen 3 QD-OLED monitor, the ROG Strix OLED XG27UQDMS serves as a smaller alternative to the ROG Strix OLED XG32UQDMS, which has reached the UK too. Not only does the 27-inch monitor output at 4K and 240 Hz, but it also delivers 1,000 nits peak brightness in HDR mode (APL 3%) and 0.03 ms GtG response times while mitigating image tearing via AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync technologies. Additionally, Asus includes the following ports:
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC)
- 2x HDMI 2.1
- 2x USB 3.0 Type-A
- 1x USB 3.0 Type-B
The ROG Strix OLED XG27UQDMS is available to pre-order from Scan UK for £738.98 (~$1,011) including 20% VAT. In other words, Asus' new 27-inch gaming monitor is around £60 (~$80) cheaper than the ROG Strix OLED XG27UCDMG before it (curr. $960 on Amazon). Currently, Asus expects to begin selling the ROG Strix OLED XG27UQDMS within the Eurozone between April and May 2026.
