The panel peaks at 180 Hz, and sports decent VRR functionality. According to RTINGS' in-depth review, motion clarity is acceptable, but is noticeably better with VRR turned off. The IPS panel barely manages a nearly 1000:1 contrast ratio, which is made even worse when its local dimming feature with just 8 zones is turned on, hilariously.

Picture quality is otherwise respectable, but nothing quite worth bragging about. Brightness peaks at around 450 nits, which is decent enough, and the panel manages to cover 98.9% and 92.2% of the sRGB and DCI-P3 color gamuts respectively, which is perfectly admirable. Once calibrated, color accuracy is outstanding as well. Being an IPS panel, viewing angles are great, and the reflection handling does an okay-ish job. 

With the exception of the terrible local dimming feature, there were no other notable complaints about the Alienware 27 QHD gaming monitor's performance. Folks on a budget who end up taking advantage of this budget gaming monitor deal will most likely be satisfied with their purchase, especially if color reproduction is a priority. Dual USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports are present, and video inputs are handled by DisplayPort 1.4 and dual HDMI 2.0.
