OnePlus Pad Mini and Oppo compact tablet to debut soon with Snapdragon 8 series chipsets onboard

More compact tablets are on the way. Following the releases of devices like the RedMagic Astra and Redmi K Pad last year, OnePlus and Oppo are set to bring their own takes on the compact tablet to the market, and imminently too.
As shared by Digital Chat Station, both companies will launch compact tablets in the first half of the year. They'll be joined by similar offerings from Xiaomi and RedMagic—the Redmi K Pad 2 and RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro, respectively—within the same period. The latter is likely to be branded as the RedMagic Astra 2 on the global market.
While there's no exact timeframe for the release of the OnePlus tablet, Oppo's offering is expected to launch in China next month. It's unclear, however, whether it'll feature an LCD or OLED screen, although reports suggest it could be positioned as a flagship-grade Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered model—potentially indicating an OLED display. The OnePlus tablet, tentatively branded as the "OnePlus Pad Mini", could be a less ambitious option, though, and word on the grapevine claims it could be powered by the cheaper Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.
