More Amazfit smartwatch users get Route Planning feature in new update

The Amazfit Balance 2 smartwatch is receiving another software update. Firmware version 3.39.0.4 is the first 2026 release for this wearable, which got new Biocharge-related tools in a December 2025 update.
Officially announced by Zepp Health on Discord, and also noted by Reddit users, version 3.39.0.4 adds four new features to the Balance 2 smartwatch (curr. $249.99 at Amazon). Firstly, there is a new Exercise Sound Cue function, playing reminders through the watch’s speaker or connected headphones. Another addition is the Route Planning tool, with users now able to devise a course directly on the watch or in the app. Users of the Helio Strap can now use this secondary device to record heart rate data during swimming workouts. Plus, it is now easier to switch between third-party audio sources in the wearable’s Music app.
Firmware version 3.39.0.4 also brings several improvements to users of the Amazfit Balance 2. These include optimizations for vibrations during exercise, system interference when diving and the Zepp Coach training plan experience. There are also enhancements for the map display with extra route information, and the battery life is said to be more stable. You can find the complete change log in the image below.
Amazfit Balance 2 firmware version 3.39.0.4 is expected to be rolling out in phases to users of this smartwatch. It is unclear when the distribution will be complete. When available in your region, you will be able to trigger the installation process via the Zepp app.
