Amazfit pushes new BioCharge-related features and workouts to smartwatch

The Amazfit Balance 2 XT is receiving its first 2026 firmware update. The version 2.16.0.1 release arrived around two months after the last update, version 2.14.0.1. This added new always-on display (AOD) watch faces and improved GPS performance.
Announced in the Zepp Health Discord, the latest update is referred to as the Amazfit Balance 2 XT OTA 4 release, or firmware version 2.16.0.1. It brings a range of new features to this smartwatch, including two new workout modes: Rucking and Mountain Hiking. There are two tools related to BioCharge energy monitoring: a 24-hour BioCharge trend and a Morning BioCharge card.
The Amazfit Balance 2 XT also gets a new Silent icon in the Control Center. Plus, users can now take a screenshot by simultaneously pressing the crown and the lower button. Captures are automatically saved to your connected smartphone. On top of this, there are optimizations for Activity reminders, the Weather data source and map icons. You can find the complete change log in the screenshot below.
Firmware version 2.16.0.1 is expected to be pushed to users of the Amazfit Balance 2 XT smartwatch (curr. €177 at Galaxus) in phases. When it is available in your region, you will be able to install the update via the Zepp Health smartphone app.
