The Amazfit Balance 2XT smartwatch is receiving a new software update, version 2.14.0.1. This release brings many of the features included in the Balance 2 OTA 5 update to this cheaper wearable.
With software version 2.14.0.1, the Amazfit Balance 2 XT smartwatch gets several new settings. Users can now adjust the size of the text shown on the watch’s screen, and set a separate tone and volume for media, alarms and workouts. There is a new function for the digital crown, which will open the Notification Center when rotated upwards, and open the Control Centre when twisted downward.
The Amazfit Balance 2 XT gains another workout mode, Ski Machine, allowing you to track your skiing training. Other additions include always-on display (AOD) watch faces, and new integrations with TrainingPeaks and Intervals.icu for faster data syncing. On top of this, the company indicates that it has improved GPS performance, delivering more “natural” routes for various activities, and in-workout navigation is said to be smarter. The algorithm behind the BioCharge metric has been optimized, and the accuracy of treadmill cadence maximum and average values has been improved.
Zepp Health appears to be rolling out software version 2.14.01 in phases to the Amazfit Balance 2 XT smartwatch (curr. €179 at Galaxus DE). It is seemingly rolling out to users in China, the US, and Canada first, though it is unclear when this update will reach all users.
