Amazfit has announced a new update for the Balance 2 smartwatch. Software version 3.30.0.2, also known as the Amazfit Balance 2 OTA 5 update, arrives around a month after version 3.24.6.2. This older release added support for the Stryd accessory and tackled an issue with the BioCharge feature.
With software version 3.30.0.2, users gain a new Ski Machine workout mode, as well as additional always-on display (AOD) watch faces. Users can now adjust the size of the text shown on the watch, and the Notification Center can be opened and closed by rotating the digital crown up or down. Plus, there are new custom volume settings for alarms, media and workouts, and you can set different tones for calls, notifications and alarms. Finally, for users outside of China, come integrations with TrainingPeaks and Intervals.icu.
The release also brings a series of optimizations for the Amazfit Balance 2 smartwatch (curr. $299.99 at Amazon). According to the change log, GPS performance is now smoother, and suggested routes are said to be “more natural”. On top of this, in-workout navigation has improved route guidance, waypoints and slope alerts. The BioCharge energy level metric has been enhanced, as has the interface for the recreational diving activity. You can find the complete change log below.
It is expected that this software version 3.30.0.2 release for the Amazfit Balance 2 smartwatch will be released in phases. Usually, these updates reach users in the US, Canada and China first, arriving in the Zepp app a few days or weeks later in regions like Europe.
