A new update has arrived for the Fenix 8, Fenix 8 Pro, Fenix E, Enduro 3 and Tactix 8 smartwatches. System software 20.24 brings three bug fixes to these wearables. It has started to roll out just a few days after the beta version 20.23 update arrived. This earlier release fixed a vibration-related problem.
The stable version 20.24 update resolves two more problems, which could cause the Fenix 8 and related smartwatches to crash. The first was said to occur when maps were locked, and the second crash problem was linked to the flashlight shortcut. The final bug fix is for the SOS alarm countdown; apparently, this was not playing as expected during sleep.
Garmin announced this update in a recent post in its forum. According to the company, system software 20.24 is being rolled out in phases to users of the Fenix 8, Fenix 8 Pro, Fenix E, Enduro 3 and Tactix 8 smartwatches. At the time of writing, it has reached approximately 50% of these customers; Garmin has not noted the expected end date for the rollout. It remains to be seen when new features will next be released to the Fenix 8 smartwatches (51mm, Solar, Sapphire, curr. $949.99 at Amazon).
